I just discovered Pinterest, an online pin board to collect all my ideas, other people’s ides, and photos of ideas. Have I mentioned it’s good for collecting ideas? So, I do have some plans and mostly will use it to collect inspiration and even collaborate with some photog friends of mine. I am such a visual person and instead of collecting link…this is much better. I also went through the trouble of adding a “PIN IT” button to the bottom of all my blog posts too. I just wanted to share this and if you haven’t tried it, I HIGHLY recommend you give it a go! Oh yeah, if you want to “follow me” Pinterest, just click the image of my Pinterest Board below.
Recently, I was hired by Akan, the manager of The Red Fez in the South End. I have done over a dozen different restaurants photos and partnered with Jamie Fitzgibbons who is the lead web designer/owner at CRS Web Designs. The restaurant has been there quite a while, 70 years in fact. I had never been there even though it was less than 15 minutes from my house. When you walk in, there is a real cosmopolitan feel with a Middle Eastern decor. After I took some interior photos for their new website, it was time to focus on the food! Usually, when I partner with restaurants, I’ll take 5-7 photos of their signature dishes. At The Red Fez, there is such a wonderful variety of plates, I shot over 20 dishes! I just used a few for this blog post, but the next time you want to try something different and expand your view on food, check it out. Also, I will be heading back to take more photos of belly dancers during the next big event, no complaints here
Just this past November, I connected with Tori and Javier via her cousin Jessica. I captured Jessica’s wedding this past May and Jessica surprised Tori at her baby shower with a private photo shoot! Good call Jess The parents to be are prepared and ready to welcome their baby boy into the world. I will also have the privilege of taking Diego’s first baby portraits in the near future, Tori is 39 weeks right now so it’s going to happen soon! The shoot went great and Javier was really helpful since I invaded their living room with my portable lighting studio and gear. Everything was restored of course. Tori also a student of yoga, so we incorporated some poses that showed that she is still a flexible mama to be. All of these photographs capture that special time before life changes completely…in a wonderful way.
On October 29th, yes THAT October 29th I photographed Jason and Amy’s wedding. They are both educators, Jason a music teacher and Amy a 2nd grade teacher. One of the sweetest couples I’ve worked with! The freak snow storm did not dampen their spirits, they were both so graceful and did not let the wacky weather get them down. I was lucky enough to get a few shots outside with Amy, the calm before the storm, literally. Their families were so helpful and really just made Jason and Amy’s special day go like clockwork. Luckily for me, they were game for getting a few outside shots under a small pavilion at the Fruitlands Museum and Shaker Village. Amy was a trooper and we only stayed out 5 minutes since it was freezing. I’ll have to get back to the Fruitlands Museum without the snow sometime. Thanks again Jason and Amy for choosing me
I had the pleasure of photographing one of my colleague’s family back in November. Meg and her family were fun to shoot! Her 15 month old daughter Ruthie was full of energy and held it all together quite well for the duration of the shoot. The weather ended up being great that morning so we got outside. Little did I know we would still be having open grass up into January. As long as it’s green, that can really extend the photo session season. Thank again for choosing me Meg, Rich, and Ruthie!
